Sally's Apizze

The U.S. is overflowing with pizzerias—many of them corporate chains or franchises, all claiming to serve the best pizza. But let me tell you: that’s simply not true. Sally’s in New Haven is hands down the best pizza we’ve ever had. Don’t judge a book by its cover. The place hasn’t been remodeled in decades, but that only adds to its quaint, family-run charm. They focus solely on pizza—and they do it right. Each pie is made to order and absolutely worth the wait. And while you wait, you’ll find yourself enjoying time with your own family or striking up a conversation with theirs. We ordered both a red and a white pie. The garden veggie was outstanding—packed with fresh ingredients and bursting with flavor. Their red sauce is unmatched, and the coal-fired oven is what truly sets them apart. Congratulations to Richard and Bobby! You’ve carried on your father’s legacy with heart, tradition, and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. Sally’s isn’t just a pizzeria—it’s a slice of New Haven history.
