Located in the southern part of Connecticut, not far from Mystic and New York City, the Beardsley Zoo is a charming, family-friendly destination. Thoughtfully laid out with scenic walking paths, the zoo guides visitors through a variety of open exhibits that offer multiple views of the animals in their naturalistic habitats. The zoo features a diverse collection of species—from majestic tigers to their newest addition, the red panda. Personal favorites during our visit included the wolves and the anteaters, both fascinating to observe up close. You'll also find birds, reptiles, and many other captivating creatures throughout the grounds. As a smaller-scale zoo, it offers an intimate and relaxed experience, and the staff are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. It’s a wonderful spot for a day trip with kids, family, or friends.
