The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk 



The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk is a fantastic destination for a family outing. It focuses primarily on marine life native to Long Island Sound, offering both education and entertainment for all ages. As you enter, you’re greeted by five interactive 60-inch screens mounted on a massive wall-sized map, where you can learn fascinating facts about the Sound. One of the highlights is watching the seals being fed—always a crowd-pleaser. Young visitors will love the Go Fish! hands-on exhibit, and just around the corner, they’ll find the meerkat habitat, where kids can pop up inside a viewing bubble for a close-up look. The aquarium also features a shark and ray touch pool, and a Marine Lab that breeds and hatches jellyfish—an especially unique experience. Other exhibits showcase river otters, seals, reptiles, terrapins, sharks, jellyfish, and much more. Upstairs, you’ll discover a variety of frogs, a model boat exhibit, and a toddler-friendly ocean-themed play space.
