There’s more to Mystic, Connecticut than just oysters and pizza. Two words come to mind when I think of this charming little ice cream shop and café on the west side of the drawbridge: fresh and homemade. We visited on Easter Sunday, when most places in Mystic were closed—but this café was open, and what a delicious surprise it turned out to be. Their sandwiches were both fresh and inventive. We especially loved the roast beef, turkey, the Green Machine, and the poutine. Then we tried their other claim to fame: the ice cream. Every flavor is homemade, making it one of the best ice cream spots in all of Connecticut. With a friendly staff and a cozy, historic ambiance, Drawbridge Ice Cream is a perfect place to bring your kids, family, and friends. It’s a local gem that delivers comfort, creativity, and a sweet finish to any day in Mystic.
