Wright Museum
The Wright Museum is hands-down the best World War II museum we've visited. It features an impressive working ordnance exhibit, along with displays representing the various branches of the military from that era. One standout is the hands-on exhibit that compares past and present technology, offering a fascinating look at how innovations have evolved. A favorite part of our visit was the Time Tunnel—a truly unique experience. As you progress through each room, you're immersed in a specific year of the war, with memorabilia from both the battlefront and the home front. Highlights include Life magazine covers, interactive video displays, news clips, period music, and historic photographs. New for 2012, the museum planned to add an outdoor track where visitors could watch an authentic WWII tank drive through the woods, simulating the conditions of wartime maneuvers. It’s a remarkable place that brings history vividly to life.
