Belair Mansion

Belair Mansion

Belair Mansion (circa 1745) offers a captivating glimpse into Bowie’s earliest history. This elegant five-part Georgian plantation house was originally built for Samuel Ogle, Provincial Governor of Maryland. In 1914, the mansion was enlarged by the renowned New York architectural firm Delano and Aldrich, and later became the home of William Woodward, a prominent horseman during the first half of the 20th century. Restored to reflect its 250-year legacy, Belair Mansion is proudly listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
