Mütter Museum
The Mütter Museum, part of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, was originally founded to educate future doctors about anatomy and medical anomalies. Today, it serves as a fascinating resource for the public, offering insight into our medical history and sharing powerful stories about what it means to be human. The museum’s collection now features over 20,000 unforgettable objects, including fluid-preserved anatomical and pathological specimens, skeletal and dried remains, medical instruments and apparatus, and anatomical models crafted from plaster, wax, papier-mâché, and plastic. Visitors will also find memorabilia from renowned scientists and physicians, along with medical illustrations, photographs, prints, and portraits—each piece contributing to a deeper understanding of the human body and the evolution of medicine.
