Independence Park
Independence Park
Independence National Historical Park preserves the story of the birth of American democracy and continues to stand as a global symbol of freedom. Spanning 20 blocks in the heart of Philadelphia, the park includes 22 historic buildings, with the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall as its most iconic landmarks. Independence Hall is where both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were debated and signed, marking pivotal moments in our nation’s founding. The site of Benjamin Franklin’s home is especially engaging for children, featuring a working printing press and hands-on exhibits that bring history to life. Just a short distance away, the Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site offers a glimpse into the life of one of America’s most famous literary figures. Begin your visit at the Independence Visitor Center, located at 6th and Market Streets, where you can pick up free tickets for the Independence Hall tour—available the morning of your visit.
