Dinosaur State Park and Arboretum
Dinosaur State Park in Connecticut is a fantastic destination for learning about the geological history of local dinosaurs while enjoying the park’s scenic nature trails. For a small fee, you can access the museum and view the famous fossilized tracks. How were these tracks preserved for over 100 million years? An engaging video, interactive displays, and knowledgeable staff help answer that question—and many others. The exhibits also explore the ancient supercontinent Pangea and explain how geological events left behind these remarkable tracks in the Connecticut River Valley. From May through October, visitors who check the park’s website and bring their own materials can make a plaster cast of a dinosaur track to take home—a fun and memorable hands-on experience.
