Kreider Farms -Farm Tour

Another standout attraction in the Lancaster area is the Kreider Farms Tour—a 90-minute experience that begins at the Lancaster Inn on Route 72 in Manheim, followed by a scenic drive to the working dairy farm. Having grown up in farm country myself, I thought I knew all there was to know about cows—but I was amazed by the fascinating facts and insights shared throughout the tour. This captivating journey takes you through the entire farm, with a knowledgeable guide explaining every aspect of modern dairy farming—from cow care and feeding to milking, breeding, and even manure management. Highlights include a ride through the loafing barn, affectionately known as the “cow palace,” a bird’s-eye view of the milking merry-go-round, and a refreshing sample of their delicious, fresh milk. We were thoroughly entertained and walked away with a deeper appreciation for the hard work and innovation behind dairy farming. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area—it’s educational, fun, and a true taste of Lancaster County.
