Chesapeake Lights Tours offers a variety of engaging lighthouse excursions near Tilghman Island, perfect for maritime enthusiasts and curious travelers alike. Guests board the M/V Sharps Island, a 36-foot, 30-passenger, all-weather vessel—originally built for Navy special operations and now upgraded for comfort. Led by Captain Mike Richards, each tour features a narrated history of the region’s lighthouses and the fragile yet fascinating ecosystem of the Chesapeake Bay, with options designed to suit a range of schedules and interests. The Great Circle Route is a full-day adventure showcasing 10 lighthouses up close; The Passage offers a half-day tour featuring 5 lighthouses; and the Three Light Tour, as the name suggests, visits 3 lighthouses in just three hours. All tours depart from the Bay Hundred Restaurant and are consistently enjoyable and worthwhile. Captain Mike brings deep expertise in both seafaring and lighthouse history, adding depth and personality to each outing. He also offers daily sails aboard the Lady Patty, a beautifully restored 1935 yacht originally built on Solomon’s Island, offering guests a classic and scenic way to experience the bay.
