If you're hiking the trails around Crawford Notch or simply driving along Route 302, be sure to stop in for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the AMC Highland Center. Lunch is served cafeteria-style, but don’t expect school food—a gourmet chef is on staff, crafting fresh sandwiches and wraps on homemade bread. You’ll also find salads, vegetarian platters, and even PB&J, but the real standout is their homemade daily soups and chili, widely considered the best in the valley. Dinner is served family-style at 6:00 PM sharp, beginning with their signature soup of the day, followed by salad and homemade bread. The main course features two entrée options—vegetarian and meat—each accompanied by a starch such as potatoes, rice, or couscous, and a fresh vegetable medley, all prepared by Chef Matt Houghton. To finish, Matt delights guests with one of his famous desserts, the perfect ending to a satisfying meal.
