Gettysburg NPS Museum & Cyclorama

The new multimillion-dollar Museum and Visitor Center at Gettysburg National Military Park should be your first stop when visiting Gettysburg. This state-of-the-art facility features high-tech exhibits, including high-definition touchscreen displays that explore various aspects of the Civil War. The exhibits cover key moments such as the events leading up to the war, the Southern states’ secession from the Union, Lincoln’s election, and the John Brown raid at Harpers Ferry. Visitors can view five compelling videos that provide a clear and accurate timeline of the Civil War, beginning with the attack on Fort Sumter and concluding with General Lee’s surrender at Appomattox. Admission to the Cyclorama, Film, and Museum Experience includes access to the Cyclorama painting presentation, the Morgan Freeman-narrated film "A New Birth of Freedom," and the Gettysburg Museum of the American Civil War.
