Roger Williams Park Zoo

Our favorite family attraction in Rhode Island is the Roger Williams Park Zoo. A lot of new and exciting things have happened over the last few years at the zoo. First is the opening of Our Big Backyard and Tree House, a play place for the kids filled with hands-on things to do including the interactive Rube Goldberg style tree house. Also new is the Australian walkabout were you to walk along side the wallaby and kangaroos as well as their improved farmyard where kids can play farmer and brush the goats, milk the cows and gather eggs from the chickens. The zoo is divided into different continental sections such as Africa, North America, Central America, Australia and more which allows them to feature many species of animals. What's the most fascinating at each exhibit is the information board that gives you facts about the animal and whether they're endangered or at risk of being endangered. Another cool thing to catch during your visit is the elephants getting a bath or the giraffes at feeding time. Plan on spending the entire day at the zoo surrounding by the neatest animals and the greatest friendliest staff imaginable.
