Mystic Aquarium

The Mystic Aquarium is one of our favorite aquariums and a must-see attraction when coming to this beautiful part of Connecticut. The aquarium has many exciting indoor and outdoor exhibits where you and your family can spend the entire day. As you walk through the outdoor pathway, you will explore different regions and climates of the world, from the arctic to a fresh water marsh. They have three touch tanks and an abundance of fish and other fascinating sea life exhibits. What’s really cool is the sea lion show as well as playing and interacting with the super friendly and social Beluga Whales. The Titanic exhibit has been scaled back but still gives you a lot of interesting information about how she was discovered including this fascinating fact that Dr. Ballard was actually commissioned by the US Navy to find two missing submarines but then was able to finance the exploration to include a search for the Titanic. The new Exploration Wild exhibit, which is in the same location as the Titanic exhibit, features creatures and hands-on activities depicting from the Arctic Ocean to the Amazon. It's a very kid friendly, fun little addition to the aquarium.
