Southern Vermont Natural History Museum

If you want to get off the beaten path or the 91 Interstate, travel about twenty minutes west of Brattleboro on top of Hogsback Mountain and you will find the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum. You enter through the Hogback gift shop and pay a very small fee to visit this quaint three-story building. You will find many kinds of stuffed animals indigenous to the area and great hands-on experiences for children. Our big surprise came on the last floor when we found the live animals including turtles, fish, snakes, insects and many types of birds, all of which were happy to entertain us. So if you decide to head towards the Molly Stark State Park or you're just want to have a nice Countryside drive you will enjoy the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum, the terrific view and even a nice hike on Hogback Mountain.
