In the heart of Delaware at the county seat in Dover is the John Dickenson Plantation. Come and see what they used before light bulbs, before box spring mattresses, before pesticides! Learn about life in colonial times on the picturesque St.Jones River. The tour was really informational with many little tidbits that I had not heard of before. Couple that with the home itself being filled with family owned and authentic period pieces to which the guide had extensive knowledge, the John Dickenson Plantation is a very nice day trip when visiting Dover.
