To get a great burger in Connecticut you have to stop at Louis' Lunch, but don't let the name fool you because they are open from noon to some nights 2 in the morning. They have a really great burger cooked in the original cast iron grills from over a hundred years ago. Why fix something that isn't broken. They have perfected the hamburger sandwich where tomatoes, onions and cheese are the only toppings available. Another nice feature is their homemade salads. We had the potato salad and it was out of this world. They also sell local brand chips and soda that brings a very special flavor to their burgers. Finally, you must try a slice of their homemade pies - what a treat. Make sure you stop in the Louis's Lunch, but don't expect ketchup, only expect to see good friends and be met with charismatic hospitality.
