Magic Wings
Whether making the trip to Vermont or New Hampshire, when in the western part of Massachusetts or if you're just traveling on I-91 stop in South Deerfield and visit Magic Wings. There are three parts to this fantastic museum. One is the outside gardens where you can take in the beautiful landscape and see how they are helping perpetuate the precious life cycle of the Monarchs. The other two are inside the building where first you can see and learn about many different reptiles, amphibians and insects. Some are rare and exotic that I've never seen up close before my visit. You can spend a good half an hour just in this room alone. Then you venture into the arbitrarium that hosts over a thousand different butterflies and about 40 different birds all in a lush green environment. This is the best place to spend time with these precious winged beauties on the north east coast. It's certainly worth the visit for any age from little ones to the seniors.
