May Kelly's
The best traditional Irish food that we've ever had while traveling in the Northeast is at May Kelly's. If you like Shepherd's Pie, Irish Beef Stew or even Chicken Pot Pie then we recommend them all individually or they also have something called the Irish sampler that includes all three either as a meal or an appetizer to share. They serve fresh and hot hearty bread with their meals and we highly recommend the spicy Bloody Mary to go with any entree. In addition, I am not exaggerating when I say that they have the best homemade coleslaw I've ever eaten which is a terrific compliment to their Reuben or seafood Ruben (made with fresh beer battered fried haddock). If you are a steak lover then try Marie's amazing marinated sirloin tips. In speaking with the locals there were many other dishes that they were proud to recommend to us, including the Irish puddings and burgers. They said there is nothing on the menu that they would not recommend. We are looking forward to the summer to making the trip back up the the White Mountains and dining at May Kelly's and maybe next time catching one of their live Irish bands for some traditional entertainment.
