MASS MoCA
MASS MoCA

The Berkshire’s are known for their awesome displays of art and the Mass MoCA is no exception. This is the place to visit to see many exhibits in multimedias and mediums with various changing and updating themes. “Oh Canada" is available now through 2013 that includes over 40 different artists from Canada, the largest compilation of Canadian artists in the US. Sol LeWhitt has three floors of very colorful and breathtaking wall art that is an amazing and inspiring expression of creativity. Some other exhibits are outdoors, like exploring the spaceship that crashed into the boiler room or taking a thrilling giant swing ride underneath the route 2 overpass. The museum also has an exhibit area just for kids which features child artists and includes an interactive art studio -check their website for programs being offered. They also have a Performing Arts Center where you should be sure to try and take in a show during your visit. While most of the material in the museum is appropriate for all ages, there are some scenes or images which may not be suitable for children and therefore parents should be cautious and ask the friendly and helpful staff for guidance. We had our 5 and 8 year old children with us and had no problems finding plenty to captivate them at Mass MoCA
