Wilmington & Western Railroad
We were excited to discover a scenic train ride in northern Delaware. We love and are acquainted with train rides through the mountains of New England and at Wilmington & Western we found a great local railroad. The trains operate from March thru December so that visitors can experience the beautiful rolling hills and rivers of New Castle County as each season brings a change in scenery. Their 2 ½ hour trip on the “HOCKESSIN FLYER” goes from Greenbank Station to the quaint village of Hockessin. Another excursion on the “MT. CUBA METEOR” allows guests to enjoy a picnic lunch. They also offer 19 special rides throughout the year including the “Santa Claus Express” which is fun and exciting for the kids. Young or young at heart the Wilmington & Western Railroad is a great experience for everyone to have a great day riding the rails.
