Cafe des Artistes
Our favorite French restaurant is Café des Artistesin the small town of Leonardtown in Maryland. You cannot help but think of crabs when in Maryland, and Café des Artistes does them justice with their crab Cakes and Crabs Dip. Their exceptional French cuisine is showcased beginning with their appetizers. The escargot, hearts of palm salad and liver pâté are all superb. The staff are extremely friendly and they will bring out fresh warm bread with every meal. Even though they do not have a children’s menu, they will prepare something with just as much attention and care for the kids, like their homemade chicken nuggets at a reasonable cost. My husband is a huge veal fan, so of course he had the veal with the Normandy sauce which was to die for. I went with the Vietnamese catfish and that was truly amazing. I couldn’t stop talking about it to everyone I knew, and now I find myself craving it. Somehow we saved room for dessert and the key lime pie and Limoncello gelato were both out of this world.
