Dinner 2nd Street
If we didn't come across the vegetarian chili at the cafe in Historic Jamestown then we would never have found out about Williamsburg's number one restaurant - the 2nd Street Bistro. The hostess will greet you with the kind of hospitality known only in the south and you will find this warmth throughout your meal from all staff. Before you can even make it to the dining area you will notice the wide assortment of decadent desserts. They have an amazing appetizer line up, so I hope you are hungry because I can recommend four appetizers - the iron skilltlet cornbread, the Ahi Tuna, the Chesapeake Crab Dip and 2nd Street famous Onion Rings. If you are considering a fresh fish, then you must have their catch of the day that is always prepared in a unique way by their talented Chef. Other amazing entrees were the baby back ribs and the crabs. What really stood out to me was the 2nd Street Shrimp and Grits - you simply cannot leave the Williamsburg area without trying it. It comes with the cheese grits and shrimp in a spicy sausage sauce that contains just the right amount of kick so as not to over take the dish, but rather have it come together as a perfectly prepared meal. As I mentioned before, the desserts are plentiful, but don't not worry if you did not save room because you can take something home for later, like the cakes, pies or cookies. The 2nd Street Bistro or their two cafes at both Jamestown attractions are a must to dine at while visiting Williamsburg, VA.
