The Somers “Mansion” is a small brick structure built in 1725 overlooking the Great Egg Harbor Bay in Somers Point, NJ. It's a NJ State Historic site and tours are available of the house where the Somers family lived until the early 20th century. Call for open hours: (609) 927-2212. Adjacent to the mansion site is the Atlantic Heritage Center, its museum will appeal to every member of the family! It features major collections in the household, useful, decorative, and fine arts. Maritime enthusiasts will enjoy extensive display of shipbuilding tools, models, and marine artifacts representing one of the major 19th century industries in Atlantic County and the region. Fans of the Victorian era will appreciate the clothing and textile collections. And children will light up when they see the display of toys and dolls.
