The Nature Center has a variety of environmental displays and programs. Information about trees and their leaves, Native American artifacts, and a number of stuffed animals, so you can see what a certain animal really looks like. There are also live animals indigenous to this area; animals that you just might see on a walk through the woods such as frogs, turtles, snakes, and lizards. There's also carnivorous plants- "meat eaters"! Check the County webpage (www.aclink.org/events/) for a calendar of programs which include Tree Frog Tromp, Nature Hikes, Friends of the Forest Nature Club, Nature Discovery Class (a week-long, summer learning experience), Owl Prowl, and environmental education workshops. The park features a camping area, boat launch area for your canoe or kayak, picnic areas, a 1.5 mile exercise trail, a paved 2.2 mile loop road for biking or jogging, 20 miles of hiking trails (including a 1.8 mile elevated boardwalk trail), softball and soccer fields, sand lots for volleyball and a floating dock fishing area. There's even a lending program for bikes and sports equipment.Weekdays 8am to 4:30 pm – weekends and holiday 8 am to 4pm
