Hull Lifesaving Station & Musem

The Hull Lifesaving Museum is located in the restored Point Allerton U.S.Lifesaving Station, constructed in 1889 by the United States Lifesaving Service. Point Allerton was home to Joshua James and his crew, among the most celebrated lifesavers in America, who guarded the treacherous passage into Boston Harbor. Museum Exhibits include the history of lifesaving, the Massachusetts Humane Society, the United States Lifesaving Service, Boston Harbor Islands, lighthouses, lifesaving apparatus and equipment, as well as special traveling exhibits. Visitors to the station are invited to climb to the cupola for a spectacular view of Boston Light, and Minot. Children enjoy the dress-up uniforms and climb-on play ship in the Navigation Loft.
