The Museum
The new multimillion dollar Museum and Visitor Center at Gettysburg National Military Park should be the first place you visit during your trip to Gettysburg. The new museum has amazing high tech exhibits including a high definition computer touch screen depicting different aspects of the Civil War. Exhibits cover events leading up to the war, the southern states abdication from the Union, Lincoln's election and the famous John Brown raid at Harper’s Ferry. There are five videos that will give you an accurate timeline of the Civil War, starting with the attack of Fort Sumter to Lee’s surrender at Appomattox. Tickets to the Cyclorama, Film and Museum Experience include admission to the Cyclorama painting experience, the Morgan Freeman-narrated film A New Birth of Freedom and the Gettysburg Museum of the American Civil War. Tours of the park with a Licensed Battlefield Guide are also available.
The Cyclorama Experience
The Gettysburg National Military Park has an amazing unique attraction, the Battle of Gettysburg Cyclorama painting, depicting Pickett’s Charge. The Cyclorama is a must see. Anyone, whether or not you call yourself an art lover, would appreciate this mura
