Winter Menu
The Collura family of Hersey has one of our favorite family friendly restaurants that we have reviewed so far. Pete will come over from his pizza shop and sing classic Italian songs with his trusty sidekick playing the accordion. Between the two they were able to entertain our 2 year old son for two hours, which allowed for us to thoroughly enjoy their wonderful seasonal menu. We started with their crisp fresh Calamari and their homemade ricotta and mozzarella baked hot cheese spinach dip served with their fresh homemade bread. They also use fresh seasonal tomatoes with their famous mozzarella as a great appetizer. My husband raved over Chef Pete’s Veal Marcella and his Sicilian Seafood Soup. I tried their Seafood Ciapinni with fresh scallops, mussels and jumbo shrimp served in an amazing red sauce over a bed of spaghetti with garlic toast. For a kid’s meal, my daughter had fried shrimp coated in a light tempura coating, which she loved. To top things off at the end of the meal, we experienced the makings of the best pastry chef in Dauphin County. Since they change their desserts very week, all we can say is try something hot with chocolate served with Ice Cream. Whether you have dinner, try their lunch buffet, or enjoy two types of parlor pizzas, dining at either of Sorrento’s’ two locations is sure to please.
