Miah Maul Shoal Light
Miah Maul Shoal Light

Located on a shoal at the north end of the Delaware Bay off the shore of Cumberland County, NJ, the light first shone via a fourth order Fresnel lens in 1913. It is a red 45-foot conical tower with red watch room, keeper's quarters and black lantern built atop a concrete and cast iron caisson. The three-story lighthouse was automated in 1974 and it presently has a 500mm optic. The Fresnel lens is scheduled to be on display at nearby East Point Lighthouse. The light is owned by the Coast Guard and remains an active aid to navigation.
