Isaac’s
We have been coming down to Calvert County for a while and really didn’t find a restaurant that we considered reviewing in our book until we found Isaac’s, located at our number one hotel in Calvert County – the Holiday Inn Select. At Isaac’s, Jeff and his crew will treat you like family. We recommend that you start off with the BBQ Scallops or the BBQ Shrimp, but you also can’t go wrong with the Crab Pretzel. They make great and flavorful French Onion and Cream of Crab soups. But if you want something kicked up to the next level of excellence, try their Seafood Chowder, with plenty of shrimp, scallops and jumbo crabmeat. When in Maryland, most people are aware that crabs seem to be the favorite choice. But, believe me when I tell you that their Chicken Chesapeake, a marinated chicken breast smothered in rich sauce with red peppers and topped with a crab cake is my favorite dish in southern Maryland. All entrées come with fresh baked warm rolls and a crisp salad. As sides I recommend trying their smashed potatoes and vegetable medley. Finally, the best for last is the pecan pie or the Mountain Berry Flan, both are excellent. Isaac's welcomes children as well. The crew makes sure that they take care of the kids with homemade dinners at very reasonable prices.
