College Park Aviation Museum

The College Park Aviation Museum in College Park, Md. is located on the grounds of the world’s oldest continuously operating airport. The Airfield was founded in 1909 when Wilbur Wright came here to give instruction to the first military aviators and numerous firsts in aviation have occurred here since then. The Museum’s galleries tell the Airport’s significant story with historic and reproduction aircraft such as a 1911 Wright B and 1918 Curtiss “Jenny” aero planes, as well as hands-on and interactive areas for children of all ages. Monthly changing exhibits and new programs keep visitors coming back for more. The Museum’s restoration facility is responsible for restoring historic aircraft and constructing historically accurate reproductions for the museum. The College Park Airport, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is a Smithsonian Affiliate. The Museum is on the grounds of the College Park Airport and next door to the WWI/WWII themed 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant
