NASA Goddard Space Flight Center

The NASA Goddard Space Flight Visitor Center, named after "The Father of American Rocketry,” has been at the forefront of space and earth science since its beginning in 1959. Goddard's fundamental mission is to expand people's knowledge of the earth and its environment, the solar system and the universe through observations from space and scientific discovery. The Earth Science and Space Science galleries are open to the public during visiting hours and they offer many unique programs, special events and presentations as well as an opportunity for a self-guided stroll through a sample of NASA's history and current programs such as “Hubble Space Telescope: New Views of the Universe Exhibit,” “Science as Art” and a “Gemini Spacecraft.” Come out to hear lectures, see exciting model rocket launches and participate in fun-filled children's programs. There is something for every one, young and old, at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.
