Vaccaro's Pastry
Vaccaro's Pastry

Vicar's was established in 1956 by Gioacchino Vaccaro, or Mr. Jimmy as he was so aptly known. It didn't take long before they created a sensation among Baltimoreans with their specialty Italian delicacies, such as their to-die-for rum cake and out-of-this-world cannoli. Today Nick Vaccaro continues the family tradition begun by his father with the same old world recipes brought over from Italy. Vicar's has grown to include the new Pasticceria (pastry shop) which offers both carry out and a sit down café at a state of the art production facility and warehouse and five other locations throughout Baltimore and the surrounding areas. For a sure fire way to satisfy your sweet tooth, definitely make room for the dessert at Vicar's. Here's a challenge, order the “Original Colossal,” a homemade Belgian Waffle with vanilla gelato and strawberries with wet nuts and whipped cream topping. It's delicious, but I bet you can't finish it with any less than four people.
