New Deck Tavern
It took me a little bit to find a great place in University City that has good food and very reasonable prices, but I did at the New Deck Tavern on Sansom Street. University City is a college town so you have the bars , food trucks and the finer more high scale and expensive dining for the for the doctors. If just want to come in and have a drink and some starters, then you can't go wrong with their homemade Cheesesteak egg rolls. If you're in the mood for a sandwich then any of their steak sandwiches are great, but we especially loved they're Reuben sandwich. Or if you want an entrée, then you must try their fish and chips or their Shepherd's pie. The fish and chips, Ruben sandwich and Cheesesteak egg rolls all receive our Golden Beacon award for their excellent flavor, presentation and quality ingredients. Come in and say hi to the owners and their friendly staff. You'll have a great time while visiting the University of Pennsylvania and the many things to do in University City Philadelphia.
