Kreider Farms -Farm Tour
Another great attraction in the Lancaster area is the Kreider Farm Tour. The 90 minute tour starts at the Lancaster Inn on Rt. 72 in Manheim from which you drive down to the dairy farm. Having grown up in Farm County, I thought I knew everything I could about cows, but I was amazed to hear about so many farming facts that I never knew. This very captivating tour takes you through the entire farm as your guide shares with you all kinds of knowledge about dairy farming, from taking care of the cows, to feeding, milking, breeding and managing the manure. There were many highlights of the tour, such as driving through the loafing barn, otherwise known as the cow palace, getting a bird's eye view of the milking merry-go-round and getting a cold fresh sample of their delicious milk. We were truly entertained and I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone passing through the area
Instructions/Directions
You want to be on the left or North side of the Lancaster Inn Parking lot. It is between both the Inn and Encks Banquet and Conference Center. Look for sign on light post The car tour starts here . You follow a tour car and tune into an FM Radio Station
