Independence Park
Independence Park

Independence National Historical Park preserves the story of the birth of American democracy and stands, even today, as an icon of freedom for people around the world. On 20 blocks within the City of Philadelphia, besides the Liberty Bell, there are 22 buildings. Independence Hall is where the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were debated and signed. The site of Benjamin Franklin's home is especially interesting for children with a working printing press and hands on exhibits. The Edgar Allan Poe National Historic Site is nearby. Start your visit at the Independence Visitor Center at 6th and Market streets and obtain your free Independence Hall tour tickets the morning of your visit.
