A Touch of Italy
A Touch of Italy

Touch of Italy is a fabulous Italian restaurant with a warm and inviting ambiance and terrific food where you might spend a little more than you would at your average, run-of-the-mill Italian restaurant, but let me tell you it’s definitely worth it. Their appetizers, especially the calamari, are very good. Prior to your main meal, you will be served homemade warm and fresh bread with virgin olive oil and seasonings. You can have ether their house salad or their signature escarole soup. The soup has navy beans, Italian meatballs and chicken, just like Grandma used to make – and dare I say even better. A keeper of a very large local elephant suggests that they have the best veal and Bolognese sauce around - and an elephant never tells a lie. My husband had their Veal Scaloppini with Shrimp and Jumbo Lump Crabmeat with a side of Homemade Linguini with Bolognese Sauce, which was an extremely tasty meat sauce. I up for the Zuppa di Pesci that has Jumbo shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels, calamari, and scungilli sautéed in garlic and oil in a marinara sauce served over linguini. Both entrees were out of this world. Following dinner, even though we were stuffed, we had to try something from the dessert tray, from which everything looked great, including their homemade cannollies. How about the kids? They do have a children’s menu, but we would recommend for two or more kids to order one of their wood fired brick oven pizzas with their homemade white mozzarella chesses. The next time you’re visiting Atlantic County visit Lucy the Elephant and thank her for suggesting Touch of Italy as the best Italian Restaurant in South Jersey.
